‘OnePlus 5’ display, camera and other details revealed

  • 4 is considered as Unlucky in China
  • 23 MP Rear and !6 MP Front Shooter
  • Optic Amoled Display
  • Two Variants-6GB and 8GB Ram
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor
  • Design may be not that different.

OnePlus fans, the company is reportedly working on a new flagship smartphone. According to internet grapevine, the Chinese smartphone brand will launch a new smartphone this year, dubbed OnePlus 5.
For those wondering why the flagship has been named OnePlus 5 and not OnePlus 4, it's because the number '4' is considered unlucky in China.

According to a report on Korean Portal, OnePlus 5 will sport a dual-edge display like seen with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Here, it is also safe to assume that since the OnePlus 3T came with Optic Amoled displays, the new version too would come with a better screen if not the same.

It has been also mentioned that the rumoured OnePlus 5 could sport a 16GB front-facing camera along with a 23MP rear-camera. This means that the handset could feature the same selfie camera as the OnePlus 3T but an upgraded rear shooter.

As for the memory, the smartphone is being said to sport 6GB or 8GB RAM. For those unaware, the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T both feature 6GB RAM. We also have seen Asus launching the first ever 8GB RAM smartphone earlier this year at CES 2017 event. There is no clear explanation as to why the handset is being said to be the fifth generation OnePlus device instead of OnePlus 4.

We assume that since the current model comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, which was the latest mobile chipset at that the time, the upcoming model might feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

As a refresher, the OnePlus 3T, launched in December, is priced at Rs 29,999 for 64GB variant and Rs 34,999 for 128GB model. One Plus 3T boasts of improved specifications and features over its predecessor, OnePlus 3. These include a faster chipset, better front-facing camera and bigger battery. However, its overall design is same as that of OnePlus 3.
